The roots of Nolte-Möbel GmbH & Co. KG can be traced back to Georg Nolte (1890 ? 1951) who founded a so-called products plant at Rheda-Wiedenbrück in 1923. Here he manufactured polishing wheels and steel wool. These sold well in the metalworking industry, optical industry and automobile and furniture plants.


 Two plants producing bedrooms were added in Delbrück in 1932 and in Brilon in 1937.

 
His son Konrad (1916 ? 1983) was at first employed in the family business in the purchasing department but took over the company management of the plant in Rheda after the war.

His two brothers shared the Delbrück and Brilon operations.

 
In 1947, he affiliated a plywood plant and shortly afterwards a  hipboard plant.

 
Now Konrad Nolte was able realise his idea of being the first furniture producer to introduce production line techniques. This pioneering work revolutionised the whole furniture industry.

 
During further diversification the foundation for the Germersheim plant was laid in 1955. Its initial role was as a supplier of plywood boards.

From 1960, kitchens were produced in Löhne.

 
Bedroom production was started in Germersheim in 1958.

 
The production of wardrobes with sliding doors was started in 1978 and the product range completed in 1979 with the ranges of system wardrobes.

Today, Nolte-Möbel GmbH & Co. KG in Germersheim is one of the most important manufacturers of wardrobes and bedroom ranges.

 
The major partner, in the third generation to run the company, is Georg Nolte (born 1941).


The lasting success of Nolte-Möbel GmbH & Co. KG can also be seen in the growth in its turnover, which has been well above the industry average since 1990.
