The division of arena DESIGN space into five thematic zones will help the participants easily select the most interesting area:

TOP DESIGN This zone comprises the "TOP DESIGN award" competition and an exhibition of winning products (find out more about the laureates of TOP DESIGN 2009).

FORUM zone is a platform for lectures, discussion panels and meetings with prominent personalities from the world of design and architecture.

In the first edition, panel participants tackled a number of topical questions - how to support and promote design, why is it worth investing in design, how to plan and execute successful cooperation between the designer and the entrepreneur, how to teach design, or how to set up an independent design practice. Much useful knowledge was provided by designers cooperating for many years with leading global brands (FORUM Zone Speakers).

CREATIVES is the space presenting the achievements of institutions supporting design development as well as professional designers and architects. For the first time in the upcoming edition, the CREATIVES Zone will feature a "future generation" section, where innovative visions of products and spaces will be showcased by the young generation of designers and architects.

EDUCATION is the venue to present the work of Polish academies of fine arts and universities of technology. It also offers students an opportunity to make their first business contacts.

KNOWLEDGE Zone is the best place to explore portfolios of specialist publishers, manufacturers and distributors of software and professional materials for designers and architects.

arena DESIGN 2009              
 

The premiere edition of arena DESIGN received a very positive feedback from opinion-makers and all design enthusiasts. Over the four days, the comprehensive exposition welcomed no less than 20 thousand visitors!

The compelling programme of lectures and discussion panels attracted a broad audience. Presentations by special guests of arena DESIGN - Manfred Dorn (from Phoenix Studio) and Tassilo von Grolman - enjoyed a particularly high turnout.

Exhibitions and demonstrations in all Zones were also extremely popular, confirming MTP's invaluable role as a leading design promoter, in a broad sense of the term.

For the four days in June the entire city of Poznań was breathing design. Initiated by Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie, the campaign entitled "city lives for design" encompassed an attractive programme of exhibitions and workshops organised by Poznań-based companies, universities as well as local and regional authorities.
