Artemide in Hollywood

30-01-2009

The lighting appliances of Artemide – which has 15 branded showrooms in the US, including one in Los Angeles – will brighten up an evening that, after the recent success of the movie at the New York Film Festival, is expected to be among the top events of this autumn in Hollywood.
This decision is in line with the communication strategy of Artemide, a favourite brand of the motion pictures world that has always made wide use of its products – including the most popular Tizio and Tolomeo lamps – considered as icons of the style of a time and of an Italian culture that has managed to give its best in design. After the Venice Film Festival and the Rome International Film Festival, where Artemide illuminated some of the most prestigious venues, this partnership occurs at the end of a year of outstanding results for the Group, which is successfully continuing its international expansion.

“We are happy to promote high-quality Italian cinema,” said Ernesto Gismondi, President of Artemide. “Cinema is defined by light and we are honoured to illuminate such an important event as this one in Los Angeles and to support a great film like ‘Gomorra’ in its run for the Oscar, which we trust will ensure great success for the film and high prestige for our Country. Today Artemide has operations in 83 countries, where it acts as a strong representative of our culture and of the great care that we, like many Italian manufacturers, each in the relevant sector, take for the beauty and quality of our products. We are very proud to join such a high-level achievement, and what’s more an Italian one, and wish a bright and successful future to ‘Gomorra’.”

The Oscar-winning movies illuminated by one of the most famous Artemide lamps – Tizio by Richard Sapper, on display in a number of museums, including, among others, the MoMA in New York – include “Wall Street” by Oliver Stone and “Philadelphia” by Jonathan Demme.
The lamps selected for the evening dedicated to the great movie by Matteo Garrone are among the most representative of the Artemide Design catalogue.

The Artemide Group is a world leader in the high-end residential and professional lighting sector. Founded in 1960, it has Ernesto Gismondi as its reference shareholder and President, and Luciano Iannuzzi as its CEO.
The Artemide Group, based in Pregnana Milanese, employs a staff of over 750 and operates through 24 controlled and participated companies, with a distribution network that includes 48 single-brand showrooms in some of the world’s main cities.
Known for its philosophy "The Human Light", Artemide is one of the most renowned and prestigious lighting brands in the world, a synonym for a synonym for Light, Design, and Made in Italy
