Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair, 4-8 February 2009, is the world's biggest trade fair for Nordic design, and has established week 6 as Stockholm Design Week. The fair attracts over 40,000 visitors, and some 5,000 foreign buyers, architects, designers and journalists descend on Stockholm. There will be around fifty different events going on at various venues around town during the week.

- "Stockholm Design Week has grown bigger, which is why it's important to be able to provide the visitor with all the very latest information on what's happening. The site will be constantly updated with current information, and you'll be able to find anything from Stockholm tips on where to eat dinner and go shopping, to images of highlights from the previous day," says Charlotte Wiking, Event Manager, Business development and International relations, Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair.

The website is a supplement to the printed guide, The Official Guide to Stockholm Design Week, which is a compilation of all the events during the week, as well as events in town. It also presents the fair's activities and exhibiting companies. The printed guide will, as at previous fairs, be distributed at the fair and in town in new, specially made stands.

- "We want to be able to offer information that is as comprehensive as possible, and hope that www.stockholmdesignweek.com will expand even further to include more events, partners and opportunities to show what Swedish design is currently all about," says Charlotte Wiking.

This year, Stockholm Design Week also has an official car sponsor - Toyota, which is unveiling its car iQ in Sweden for the first time. It just goes to show that there is a considerable amount of interest in the week.

- "iQ is a revolutionary car, not least in terms of its design. Toyota has succeeded in developing a car that is shorter than three metres, but that still offers a generous amount of space and high level of comfort for more than three adults. And all without skimping on Toyota's quality and safety requirements. Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week feels like the perfect setting for unveiling iQ in Sweden, since we believe that the design and the interior will interest the visitors, both conceptually and in terms of its appearance," says Stefan Chiu, Project Manager at Toyota Sweden.
